I'm JayHi I'm Jay, mum to 2 beautiful boys. My son Ash was diagnosed with multiple food allergies at the age of 8 months, however his symptoms began to appear earlier on at the age of 4 months.
8 years on we are learning new things everyday and still navigating through life living with food allergies. At times this journey has been lonely and challenging. My experiences have shaped me to be the person I am today. I started to help other families navigate through life living with food allergies and provided them with personalised support. In 2015 I realised I needed to invest in myself in order to evolve and grow. I qualified as an NLP Practitioner and now I am a food allergy coach. I started this journey so that I could help parents with their children and those living with food allergies. It gives me great satisfaction knowing I can help encourage others to find ways to empower themselves, taking ownership, and not allowing the allergy diagnoses to define them, to be able to lead full and happy lives. Using these coaching skills on myself and my family, we have discovered positive ways to build a safe environment, including creating "Ash friendly" meals and adapting how we communicate. Within my local community I noticed how allergies can impact so many people, so I also now run a successful Allergy Support Group, supporting individuals and families. The goal is to continue to grow this into a supportive and inclusive allergy support group. |
My vision
My vision is to create a better and safer environment for our children who live with life threatening food allergies.
I truly believe we do not need to be afraid of food allergies, instead we need to educate others about the seriousness of allergies and for others to learn how to manage food allergies, this way we can ensure that no child feels isolated or excluded in any way. I want to empower and support allergy mums to lead a confident, healthy & positive lifestyle and embrace their power to manage all aspects of being an allergy parent! |
